Directions
In a large skillet, heat 6 tablespoons
bacon grease, add onion and garlic; cook until onions are
tender but not brown. Remove from heat.
In a large pot, heat 6 tablespoons bacon
grease. Mix in chili powder and flour; stir until mixture
is smooth.
Add meat and stir until brown.
Add onion and garlic mixture.
Add all remaining ingredients except beans.
Simmer 30 minutes.
Add beans and simmer 2 hours. Add liquid
as necessary to achieve desired thickness.
Remove bay leaves and serve.
